He wanted his farming business to be carried on by his eldest son, Richard Harris, when he reached sufficient age. His three trustees, who included his brother-in-law Richard Harris, farmer of Kislingbury, were given authority to sell property and possessions and to eventually divide the proceeds among his children. Land specifically mentioned was Biggs Close at Yelvertoft and several closes in Kislingbury parish willed to his wife by her father, the late Richard Harris.
